About Me
I’m Dr. Ryan Cone, a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. I was born and raised in Roswell, Georgia, and am grateful to care for patients in the community I’ve always called home.
I studied at the University of Georgia before earning my medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. I then completed my orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by advanced fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at Washington University in St. Louis, one of the nation’s top programs.
What drew me to orthopedics is the opportunity to help people regain mobility and return to the activities they love most. I firmly believe in promoting an active lifestyle, and I view every patient’s journey as unique.
From your first visit through recovery, I strive to provide a high-quality, compassionate care experience—listening carefully, tailoring treatment options to your needs, and supporting you at each step of the process.
Ultimately, my greatest reward as a surgeon is seeing patients regain their independence and return to the hobbies, sports, and everyday moments that matter most

Dr. Cone completed five years of orthopedic residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where he gained extensive training in complex primary and revision joint replacement surgery

Dr. Cone attended the Medical College of Georgia. He graduated at the top of his class and was honored with election to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society, a distinction reserved for students who demonstrate the highest standards of academic excellence, leadership, professionalism, and service.
Treatment Philosophy
My philosophy of care begins with listening. Every patient has a unique story, set of challenges, and personal goals. I believe that hearing my patients—understanding both their symptoms and what they hope to return to—is the foundation of excellent care.
I strive to provide each patient with a clear understanding of all available treatment options, whether surgical or non-surgical, based on the most up-to-date medical literature and surgical techniques. By discussing these options openly,
I aim to empower patients with the knowledge they need in order to make confident decisions about their care.
Through guidance and shared decision-making, my goal is to help each individual choose the treatment pathway that best fits their needs, lifestyle, and personal goals. Ultimately, I want every patient to feel supported throughout their journey and to return to the activities that matter most in their lives.
